let’s pitch again (like we did last summer)

The quest to find an agent has been on hold for some months now, but with school out and summer opening up before me, it’s time to hone that query letter. Again. But then that’s the nature of the writing beast, isn’t it? Rough draft (and I still blush and squirm at the first queries I sent out, to my top-pick agents, no less – damn!), then edit, edit, totally rewrite, edit edit edit.

I’m hoping Query Letter Version 3.0 will stop them in their tracks. The last few months have offered all kinds of opportunities to pitch Out of Darkness to online competitions. The fact that I didn’t win (many of them were lotteries in a literal sense: pitch goes into a giant digital hat, winners randomly generated) doesn’t matter. These were chances to rethink what the novel is about and try out new angles. New test readers have been really positive too, so…

Let’s pitch again…

Oh and I’m on GoodReads now, trying to review every new book I read. Would love to make some new friends on that site too, so do look me up there as well.
